Starting
Starting as an investment advisor back in 2002, my journey to financial consultancy has taken many turns. Working with Guardian, Park Avenue Securities, and Allegis, I honed my skills in helping individuals and families with retirement and long-term care planning. My interest in the family dynamic has also manifested itself in my concurrent career as an assistant professor; teaching courses on Family Relations and Human Development as I publish and present research on widowhood, family finance, and related subjects.

At JohnstonRogers, I guide young professionals, individuals, and families along the path to retirement security; one built on the firm foundation of financial plans which maximize peace of mind now while offering additional financial stability when nearing retirement.
The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given was to seek balance in all four aspects of life (mind, body, interpersonal, and spiritual.) The most inspiring part of my work is when I see the outcomes of a job well done through the eyes of those acting on that guidance.
If you asked my friends or coworkers what my superpower is, they’d probably say that it’s my lightning fast ability to connect with others through the sharing of stories.
If I wasn’t an educator or investment advisor, I’m almost certain that I would be a public speaker. Outside of work, my passions include reading, listening to audiobooks, and as if 22 years of going to school wasn’t enough, taking the occasional online class. Believe it or not, I haven’t spent a dollar at Hallmark in decades, as I hand drawn every birthday, anniversary, and holiday card I’ve given. I like cookies, but love eating cookie dough out of the bowl (making for angry cooks). Fortunately, I also really enjoy brushing my teeth.
